Immediately following The Contenders Waylon Jennings Tribute show (7:30 -9:30pm) this Wednesday night at The Make-Out, I'll be doing a late-night set of rock-soul/country-funk hybrids that (sorta) keeps with the theme, tracks like Tony Joe White's "Polk Salad Annie," Solomon Burke covering Bob Dylan's "Maggie's Farm," and Aretha Franklin's take on "The Weight." I'll even throw in some Dusty Springfield in Memphis, Ronnie Hawkins tackling Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and Smith's reconfiguring of The Shirelles' "Baby, It's You." Alright. What do you say?
