 Matt Jaffe & The Distractions MATT JAFFE & THE DISTRACTIONS are a rock & roll band from San Francisco. Cutting his teeth on countless open mics around the Bay Area, Matt started taking music (a little bit) more seriously when JERRY HARRISON of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record. Since then, Matt has continued to churn out more songs than he can remember the words to, oversaturate the market with gigs (opening for the likes of MAVIS STAPLES, WILCO, and BLUES TRAVELER), and collaborate with the likes of CHUCK PROPHET and TOM HIGGENSON of the Plain White T's. Bassist PAUL PALDINO and drummer COLE BAILEY round out the power trio that has played stages across the country, including The Fillmore, The Troubadour, and Irving Plaza. August 22, 1989) is an American indie psych-rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist based in Los Angeles, CA. Her music has been compared to that of Breeders and Grace Slick, and incorporates an array of styles from every genre. Her live performances showcase a wide range of influences, most notably catchy and sincere songwriting, and extended improvisational sections. Live For Live Music and other publications call Arnell's songwriting thoughtful and original while also maintaining a familiarity, rooted in classic and contemporary styles.
