Miriam Speyer + Passenger & Pilot + Brian Belknap ~$8~ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Alternating between accordion, mandolin, slide and acoustic guitar. Brian Belknap has a singular voice as a songwriter with traces of Lucinda Williams, Townes Van Zandt and Johnny Cash. His 2008 release Lucky Me, had three of it's songs featured in the Showtime series Look! His latest release, Cradle to Grave is a homemade record that benefits enormously from the fact that the home in question belongs to M Ward and She and Him producer sideman Mike Coykendall. Over the years he has shared the stage with Calexico, Richard Buckner, Mark Eitzel, Tarnation, Cake and Train. He is currently backed by the crack rhythm section of Theresa Sawi and Michael Hoffman who have put their own stamp on Belknap’s brand of Americana music. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Brian-BelknapTurpentine/254256715910?ref=hl Miriam Speyer writes intricately beautiful melodies and sings her jazz inflected folk songs with a honeyed voice full of warmth and heart that recalls Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones. There is an infectious rhythmic pulse in her music that won’t let you go but, as irresistible as her recordings are, to really appreciate this wonderful performer you need to hear her live. http://miriamspeyer.bandcamp.com/ Forever on the edge of the next great change, fumbling towards infinity, the songs of Passenger & Pilot reflect the passion and uncertainty of the ever-restless heart. Released in the winter of 2011, the band's freshman effort, "The Calm Before", explores how the future and past meet the present moment. Songwriters China Langford and Jonathan Hirsch compose works that evoke the barren and hopeful landscapes of love and loss. http://passengerpilot.bandcamp.com/
