They play standards in their own style and many original songs based in the improvisational traditions of jazz and blues. The hot dance floor tunes are fresh and entertaining and worth the attention of both party-goers and musicolog  Kugelplex is California’s rockin’-est purveyor of klezmer and old-world party music. Formed in 2001, the group plays wild, soulful dance music at weddings, concerts and festivals throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and beyond. Their music combines originally arranged jazz manouche standards and energetic Balkan folk melodies. The band was formed a few years ago by individual traveling street musicians -- from USA, France, Italy and Hungary -- with a deep and common appreciation for jazz manouche who met in Budapest.
