Michelle Ruiz Keil is an author and playwright with an eye for the enchanted and a way with animals. Her short fiction can be found in Cosmonauts Avenue and the forthcoming anthologies Color Outside The Lines and Dispatches from Anarres: Portland Writers Pay Tribute to The Vision of Ursula K Le Guin. Her debut novel, ALL OF US WITH WINGS, came out in June from Soho Press.
Imani Gandy is a senior legal analyst for Rewire.News, where she covers law and courts and co-hosts Rewire.News’ podcast Boom! Lawyered. Imani also began and continues to write the Angry Black Lady Chronicles. Imani is a recovering attorney turned award-winning journalist and political blogger. Previously, Imani founded Angry Black Lady Chronicles, winner of the 2010 Black Weblog Award for Blog to Watch and the 2012 Black Weblog Award for Best Political Blog. She received her JD from University of Virginia School of Law in 2001, where she was a Hardy Cross Dillard scholar and an Editorial Board member of the University of Virginia Law Review.
Dr. Jen Gunter is the author of The Vagina Bible, a funny, educational, facts-only handbook on what you need to know about your own body, how to talk to your medical providers, and a guide to vaginas of all ages. An ELLE Magazine Woman to Watch, Gunter now has two regular columns for The New York Times called “The Cycle” and “You Asked,” and columns in outlets ranging from The Lancet to Cosmopolitan. She’s the star of Jensplaining, a to-be-released video series produced by the CBC launching Summer 2019, that highlights the impact of medical misinformation on women.
Nazelah Jamison is a performance poet, actor, vocalist, and emcee. She is an East Coast transplant, former organizer of the Oakland Poetry Slam and sometimes reluctant superhero. Her first book of poetry, Evolutionary Heart, was released in Fall of 2016 on Nomadic Press. Nazelah gives the best hugs in the Bay Area.
Vivian Ho is the author of Those Who Wander: America's Lost Street Kids. Ho is an award-winning journalist who has written for the San Francisco Chronicle, the Guardian, Topic, and the Boston Globe. Raised in New England, she currently lives in San Francisco.
An Oakland native, Marta Acosta is the author of eight novels and was a frequent contributor to the San Francisco Chronicle and the Contra Costa Times. She's been featured in the Washington Post, the Wall St. Journal, Marie Claire, Latina Magazine, and on Good Morning, America. She considers herself a writer of contemporary California fiction and is in deep denial about being a vampire writer. However, she's quietly thrilled that her novel The She Hulk Diaries is part of the Marvelverse. A Stanford University graduate, Marta's a long-time crazy dog lady, and lives in the East Bay with her family and rescued dog, Lola Wiggles.

The spoken word "variety show" mixes genres to raise money for local causes.
