Doublestroke is an instrumental afro-funky/ world groove quintet. Over its 15 year history the group has been home to many of the Bay Area’s top players, brought together to keep dance floors filled with joyous, hip-shaking grooves. Driving funk, Caribbean rhythms, and buoyant Afrobeat influences simmer in an ecstatic jazz stew for YOU!

Mark Oi, guitar; Myles Boisen, guitar; Paul Olguin, bass; Jordan Glasgow, keyboards;
John Hanes (Pearl Harbour and the Explosions, Chrome, many others) drums -
and a badass crew of horn players!
Named after two adjacent hills in San Francisco,
and filled with veterans of the Bay Area music scenes –
from punk rock to hip hop, and from jazzy funk to art rock –
Russian Telegraph brings you a grooving mix of original music.
Co-led by singer-guitarist David James and clarinetist-vocalist Beth Custer,
the group also features trumpeter Chris Grady, keyboardist Jordan Glasgow,
bassist Keith McArthur , and drummer John Hanes.
