About the book:
What began as survey passed among female friends quickly evolved into a beautifully laid-out book with 500 pages of interviews, photographs, illustrations and meditations on the relationship women worldwide have to dressing, shopping and style. Critically acclaimed authors Sheila Heti, Heidi Julavits, and Leanne Shapton assembled the perspectives of hundreds of women of all ages and backgrounds to create the WOMEN IN CLOTHES (Blue Rider Press, September 4, 2014; $30.00), a book unlike any you have ever seen. Featuring women who are famous, anonymous, single, married, secular, religious, wealthy and working class, the book investigates, through text and images, the ritual that binds them all in the daily act of getting dressed.
