 Quiet Lightning presents Chemical Wedding, an ongoing performance series in collaboration with The Emerald Tablet that combines music and literature as part of the vitriol project. There is an alchemy in coming together… There is something sublime, an essence rare, to be found by those who won't stop at reaching for the coin of the realm. There is a royal palace we can travel to, and all of us are eternally invited to the Wedding. If you have already accepted the invitation, we hope that this show will be a means to take you part of the way there. For the rest, may it be an echo of the invitation, and a telling of travel tales from others who have set out on the journey. Onwards! Maggie Tokuda-Hall has an MFA in writing from USF and a tendency to spill things. She writes for children and adults. Her debut children's book, Also an Octopus, comes out in 2016. Matthew Siegel was a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and teaches literature and creative writing at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. His first book Blood Work won the Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry.  Songwriter Maya Dorn sings, raps, chants, improvs and brings humor to heavy subjects. She has wild stories of touring throughout North America, China and Africa, has collaborated with Jerry Casale of Devo and been Sarah Silverman’s singing vagina.
